Q: I am trying to find accommodation which is open at reception 24 hours. I'm arriving into Barcelona 10pm. (Had very bad experience with pin codes to access hotel after hours.) Hope you can help.

A: The good news is that most hotels and hostals that I am aware of run a 24 hour reception service. I am not aware of any hotels using PIN codes at this stage (perhaps a bit technologically advanced for us at this stage) . The great majority of hotels in Barcelona run a manned 24 hour reception desk operated by a human being. However for the small hostals they may be asleep at reception when you arrive if it is after 1am however all you have to ring the bell that is conveniently and prominantly displayed on the reception desk.
