Transport Options To The Montjuic Magic Fountain?

Q: I will be visting Barcelona soon and would love to see the fountains at Montjuic. I am not very comfortable with travelling on metro system. Is there any other way I can get there from Las Ramblas, can it be reached by taxi or on foot? Please advise.

A: From the Northern most end of La Rambla (Placa Catalunya) you have about a 30 minute walk to the Magic Fountain of Montjuic. You will need a good street map to help you find your way. Just walk straight up Gran Via until you reach Placa Espanya. The magic fountain is then only a 5 minute walk from Placa Espanya.

You can also take a taxi without any problems at all and is probably the easiest option. Taxis are plentyful and you should not have to wait more than a few minutes before you can hail one down.  The taxi fare from La Rambla to Placa Espany is about 6 euros for the taxi. You can fit 4 people in a cab.
