Q: My boyfriend and I are going to Barcelona for the New Year and we would very much like to order a table at Los Caracoles for New Year's Eve. I tried to contact the restaurant, but they only speak Spanish. Is the restaurant open on New Year's Eve? Is it possible for you to help us to order a table for New Year's Eve?

A: Unfortunately we cannot make a reservation at any restaurant for you. As general information, whenever you need to call Spain you have to dial first of all the country code then followed by the local telephone number. That means, you have to dial 0034 (country code for Spain) followed by the local city number which is 93 301 2041 for Los Caracoles Restaurant.

Los Caracoles is open during the festive days, actually they never close. The kitchen is open until 00:00 (Midnight); the only thing to keep in mind is that on New Year's Eve they will serve a menu - this is a special menu created for the New Years Eve celebrations.

Restaurant Caracoles says you can reserve a table by sending them an e-mail (see details below). This may be the easiest way to make sure you receive the confirmation of your reservation. Not everybody speaks English at the restaurant, that is true, but in general the e-mail option gives them the opportunity for an English speaking person at the restaurant to be able to answer your enquiry. It will also give you the option to ask them to send you a copy of the special New Years Eve menu.

As a general rule of thumb if you wish to make reservations at any restaurant in Barcelona during the festive days it is a very good idea to check in advance if the venue you would like to visit will be open.
