Q: Hi My wife and I will celebrate New Years eve in Barcelona. Can you recommend a nice restaurant with music and dancing?

A: There are quite a lot of restaurants that open at New Year's Eve. We have made a choice, but recommend that you take a look at their websites to find out more about the district, place and kind of food, prices etc. You can also give them a call (they told me that they speak English) to make a reservation or send an e-mail to be sure you have a table! At some of the restaurants you may need to pay a certain amount for the reservation.

Do not forget to make your reservation!

Remember that Spain is one of the countries if not THE country where people have really late dinner. Therefore, as New Year's Eve is a special date, dinner may be later than usual for non Spanish guests.

Also be aware of the Spanish New Year's Eve tradition where at midnight everybody has to eat one (big) grape with every sound of the gong during the last 12 seconds of the passing year. If you manage to eat all 12 with the last sound of the gong the wish you have made for the New Year will become reality. Good luck!
