Train From Barbera Del Valles To Barcelona

Q: I will be stopping overnight in a hotel in Barbera del Valles. What is the best way of getting into Barcelona from there? There is a train station nearby, but how regular is the service?

A: There is no metro stop at Barbera del Valles. To travel from Barbera del Valles to Barcelona you need to take the RENFE train which runs from Manresa to Sant Vicenc de Calders. The train stops at Barcelona Sant Andreu Arenal, Barcelona Arc de Triomf, Barcelona Placa Catalunya and Barcelona Sants Estacio. You can get off wherever is the nearest stop to where you need to go. These trains are local trains (referred to as Cercanias in Spanish) and run frequently on working days, but less frequently during the weekend. You can look up the timetable at RENFE cercanias, but the RENFE website doesn't work too well and is not easy to use. The link to the cercanias RENFE train is given below. The other option to find reliable timetable information is simply to pick up a timetable at the counter window of the station.
