Claris Hotel Barcelona
From the outside the Claris hotel it is not exactly awe-inspiring (although it does look a lot more interesting at night when all the lights are on) However once you walk through the main entrance it's a totally different story with a modern and swish lobby area and beautiful surroundings.
The area immediately outside the Claris is at the inter junction of two busy roads. Even though the rooms have double glazing the rooms overlooking these roads will be subject to road noise. However the hotel Claris does offer interior rooms (rooms not facing the road) that are quieter and if you are bothered by a little traffic noise this may be an option to consider (the reception staff told me that all the interior rooms have natural light). If you try to reserve a room as high above street level as possible it will help to reduce noise from the street reaching your room. Although the area immediately outside the Claris is quite bland only a few minutes walk away you have Passeig de Gracia which is the No.1 shopping area in Barcelona. Passeig de Gracia also has many excellent restaurants and cafes as well as a host of top-named shops. Click here to see our photo guide of Passeig de Gracia. From the Claris you only have a 20 minute walk to both Placa de Catalunya and the Ramblas and you are only 10 mins walk away from the famous La Pedrera by Antoni Gaudi and Casa Batllo. The nearest metro stop is Diagonal which is only 10 mins walk from your hotel. The metro will take you to practically any sight of interest via the Barcelona metro system.
