Review H10 Hotel Catalunya Plaza
The Hotel Catalunya Plaza, which is in a striking building designed in 1892, still retains some of its original ornate ceilings. It is one of the only hotels which enjoy a location right on central Placa Catalunya in the heart of Barcelona. It is small and simple and within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions Barcelona has to offer.
Hotel Facilities
The Restaurant Catalunya is on the first floor and specializes in Catalan cuisine. On the first floor there is also a small lounge with a TV, an area with a computer linked up to the internet and a bar. The hotel offers a laundry service and a currency exchange. There are national and international papers ready for your perusal, and the reception can exchange your currency and help you hire a car.
Business Facilities
The hotel Catalunya Plaza has a business corner with a computer and printer. There is also one meeting room which can hold up to 30 people and measures 31 metres squared.
Rooms
There are smoking and non-smoking rooms available. The 46 rooms have been recently refurbished and all have a full en-suite bathroom with a hairdryer and scales. The rooms also feature air-conditioning, a TV with digital channels, high speed internet access, direct telephone and a minibar. There are safes in the rooms and also at reception. The location of the hotel means that the rooms facing the Placa are not only great for people watching but get a great deal of sunlight.

Placa Catalunya is the busy hub of Barcelona and you are surrounded by sights of interest, great cafes and restaurants and within easy walking distance of some great shopping. However if you don’t like noise or crowds then this is not the hotel for you.
There is a cash point and a café next to the Hotel Catalunya Plaza, and opposite on Ronda Universitat is an easy internet café. Corte Ingles is a huge department store across the Placa that has a supermarket. Las Ramblas are 2 minutes away. The nearest metro is Placa Catalunya which is on your doorstep.
How to travel from the airport to the hotel
Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. Your hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the metro stop.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.05 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you have a short 1 minute walk to your hotel.
