The best feature of the hotel Oasis Barcelona is its proximity to the Barceloneta beach which lies some 500 metres away.  The hotel does have some old school charm about it with its dark wood furnishings.

Hotel Facilities

The Hotel Oasis has a café where the sangria is good, especially after a day on the beach, and you can also get tapas.  It is open from 07:00 - 23:00.   There is also a small restaurant which is modernist in design and has a set menu for lunch for 8 euros.  At night there is a la carte dining until 22:00.

In the lobby area you will find an internet machine, a cigarette machine and a water machine.  There is parking next to the hotel.

There are 101 rooms in the hotel.  The standard rooms, of which there are 46, all have air-conditioning, heating, a bathroom, TV and a direct telephone line.  The Comfort rooms have the additional services of an electronic keycard, and a hairdryer in the bathroom.

Hotel Location and Facilities

The location is the bonus of this hotel.  Just next to the Barceloneta metro stop which is one stop from the centre of town, and the beach is a short walk away.  You will also have the pleasure of being close to some of the best seafood in town, as well as some great people-watching cafes and ice-cream shops.  Also opposite the hotel is an expanse of green which is a popular siesta location for locals.  For cash points, mini-markets and everything else either head down to near Barceloneta beach where there is a Spa shop and a cash point.  Or go the opposite direction and you’ll get to the trendy area of El Borne where you will find the Picasso museum as well as the facilities you need.  Also near the hotel are the Catalunya History museum and the Aquarium.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Estacio de Franca station, in about 33 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket your hotel is a short 3 minute walk from the station.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.05 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to take the Green Line metro to Passeig de Gracia and then change for the Yellow line to Barceloneta. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the metro.

In a Nutshell

If you are in Barcelona for a beach holiday, but want to be near to the centre of town then this is quite a good hotel to choose.  Barcelona has few hotels actually on the beach, so this is as close as you can be whilst still being in central Barcelona and within easy access to all the tourist attractions.
