Barcelona Metro
Transport Suitable for The Disabled
I’ve tracked
down all the metro stops that offer lift access and presented this
information in our metro
stop table.
All metro stops with lift access have been marked with a “Y”
next to the stop.
Click
here to see our metro stop table with access for wheel chairs -
including lifts.
The only metro
(underground) line that currently has a lift at all stops is the (Purple Line, L2). The other lines
only have a limited number of metro stations that offer lift access but extensive work is being undertaken on the metro to improve access for the disabled.
Changing from
one stop to another on the metro can be difficult as they have stairs
at most exists. You can however request assistance from the metro
staff. It is not recommended to travel via metro if you have a wheelchair
unless you only want to stay on the Purple
Line, L2

Ironically this metro stop does not have lift access for people
with wheel chairs!
Public toilets
and access for the disabled
This is an easy
question to answer. Barcelona does not have any public toilets.
It is a real problem in the city and of some concern at the moment.
Most restaurants or bars allow people to use their toilets and there
are bars that do have disabled access however I don't have a list
of them. Again your feedback would be useful here!
