If you are interested in visiting various parts of the Costa Brava, it may prove more convenient and perhaps cost effective (if there is a group of you), to hire a car. This will allow you to move between areas and discover less well-known costal villages. For more information, see our page on car rental from the airport.
The Costa Brava is a large area of Catalunya. If you are hoping to head to the smaller and more picturesque costal villages, this is going to be more difficult if you do not have a car.
It is worth planning these journeys in advance so that you don't find yourself stranded in an area where you don't want to be.
