Barcelona Sants Neighbourhood - residential area with good transport links |
The area of Sants is a 10 minute metro ride out of the centre of town and has its own distinct community feel from the rest of the city. The Barcelona Sants train station (Estació de Sants) is the focal point of the area and is one of Barcelona's largest and most well-connected stations with direct trains to the airport and destinations outside of Barcelona.
![]() Nobody likes waiting around in long queues to get their COVID test. The Express COVID testing service we recommend only works by appointment ensuring that you get tested when you need to without having to queue. Getting your COVID test in the city centre before your flight or cruise offers many advantages over getting tested in the Airport or from a cruise liner. You have your certificates on time without a rush, you have time to correct inaccuracies on your certificate and you have time to re-arrange your flight or other travel plans if you should test positive. To learn more about how to get your COVID travel certificates valid for planes, cruises and other transport, follow one of the links below to learn more. EXPRESS COVID TESTING

There are several metro stops, Sants, Tarragona, all of which are on the green line and will take you into the centre of town, Las Ramblas in 10 minutes.

The area of Sants itself doesn't have that many attractions but the ease with which you can travel to areas of interest is a plus point. You could walk to gorgeous Plaça España and Montjuïc where there are attractions such as Poble Espanyol, the Magic Fountain and the Fira Barcelona events halls. In the other direction you may want to stroll to Camp Nou, Barcelona FC ground, or do a spot of shopping in the L'Illa complex on Diagonal.
As for social life, there are many lovely restaurants in the area, as well as a few decent bars and the internationally known Space club is a 2 minute walk from the station.
Sants even has its own little festival in August where the streets get dressed up and everyone goes dancing at night next to make shift stalls selling rum and coke.
All in all, Sants is a quiet, mostly residential area, out of town but easily accessible. It would be a good choice for the more elderly, families or those who enjoy a good walk.
