The Museu Picasso as it's known is the most visited art gallery in Barcelona and caters to over 1,000,000 visitors per year. This gallery is home to one of the World's largest collection of Picasso's artwork.

The museum's curators have arranged the paintings in chronological order from Picasso's early days to his final works. Arranging the paintings in this way gives you a fascinating insight into the development of Picasso thinking over time and shows how he developed the distinctive designs that he is famous for today.

This museum of modern art is worth a visit not only for the artwork but also for fabulous view you'll get of Barcelona. We have also produced a photo album page with pictures outside the MNAC museum in Montjuïc.

The museum is home to a wide range of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque artwork and artefacts including paintings, carvings, sculptures, metalwork, and enamels. The museum also exhibits the largest collection of Catalán art in Spain.

The museum is also now host to the large collection of Catalán artwork from the 19th to early 20th century from the old MNAC at Parc Ciutadella. If you want to find out what the terms new-classicism, modernism and realism mean this museum is for you.

This museum gives you a clear insight into the many important influences in Catalán art and how it impacts on the artwork of today.
