The Gran Teatre del Liceu is a prestigious theatre in Barcelona that was founded in 1847. The theatre was rebuilt in 1999 after a fire damaged the building in 1994. Gran Teatre de Liceu was built as a music centre for the high class society to see the opera. The theatre is also a facility for culture and the arts making it one of the important opera houses in Europe.
