The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc was constructed in 1929 by an engineer named Carles Buigas. The fountain was built a year before the International Expo. Buigas received a lot of criticisms saying that the plan is too extravagant and will need a lot of time to complete. But the construction pushed thru with 3000 workers and on 19 May 1929 the Fountain had its first show.
