Maritime Museum Barcelona (Museu Martim de Barcelona)

Page Content

The Maritim Museum (Museu Martim de Barcelona) is situated at the foot of Las Ramblas just a stone throw away from the Christopher Columbus monument. If you choose to go and meander through the exhibits, you'll come across a fantastic array of model ships, some so intricately detailed you'd think they were about to set sail. And let's not forget the full-scale replicas, which give you a real sense of the grandeur of these vessels from yesteryear.

One standout feature you won't want to miss is the reconstruction of the Royal Galley. It's a testament to the shipbuilding skills of days gone by. The museum doesn't just stop at showcasing these impressive vessels, though; it delves into gripping tales of seafaring journeys, fierce naval battles, and the crucial role Barcelona played in shaping maritime history.

At the back of the Maritime museum there is a beautiful peaceful garden and out door cafe. It is a real beauty spot and you can enjoy some refreshments outside before going to Las Ramblas. You don't have to pay for entrance tickets to the museum to go to the cafe.
