Miró Mosaic on Las Ramblas

Page Content

As you amble along the lively stretch of Las Ramblas, about half way down the Boulevard you will find a dazzling artistic surprise waiting to be discovered right in the middle of the walkway. It's the Mosaic de Miró, a colourful and mesmerising creation by the world-famous artist Joan Miró who lived in Barcelona. The creation is a celebration of the city's creative spirit and has Miro's typical colours and patterns that we are all familiar with.

How to find the Miró Mosaic on Las Ramblas?

If you are travelling by metro and get off at Liceu you will find the Mosaic between the two exits of the metro. Alternatively look out for the Liceu theatre and it is just outside this venue.

Nestled among the energetic buzz of Las Ramblas, the Mosaic de Miró is like a visual feast that catches the eye of those who pass by. Adorned with a medley of vivid colours, the mosaic features an enchanting abstract design that showcases Miró's signature artistic flair. As you pause to take in the mosaic, you'll find yourself drawn into a kaleidoscope of patterns and colours that seem to come alive before your eyes. There used to be one tile that was signed by Miró himself however that tile is no longer appears to be there.

But there's more to this artistic marvel than just its stunning appearance. The Mosaic de Miró also stands as a testament to Barcelona's rich cultural history and its deep connection to the art world. Barcelona has a way to make even the walkways mini works of art and all at no cost to view and enjoy.
