Macarena is a thumping shoe-box of a club sitting right in Barcelona's city centre - just off Las Ramblas. It has a reputation for having one of the best sound systems in Barcelona city centre. The shape of the club means that there's no escaping the pounding minimal, house and techno. Not that you'd want to - at Macarena Club some of the city's best local DJs play alongside international talent.
Macarena Club has a capacity of about 300 people on one dance floor with a mezzanine area above. The music policy is about electronic dance music and an appreciative crowd keep the atmosphere electric until closing time.
Macarena Club is not for the faint hearted: it is small, dark and loud. And this is why the crowd are here - people watching, drinking and pulling are not important. The clubbers are here for the music. There's a more grown up music policy with a clientele to match.
Opening days: Monday - Sunday
