Frequently Asked Questions
Question: My wife and I, arrive in Barcelona on 18th August 2022 at 08:35 - we depart on Celebrity Cruise ship Edge on 20 August 2022. If you pick us up from the airport on the 18th and take us to be tested will it cover us until embarkation which will be around 1pm on the 20 August? We would like to book your Transfer and Test services but need confirmation on this. Alternatively, please advise if the COVID test must be done later on the 18th August to cover us for embarkation on the 20th August - we don’t want the test to expire before embarkation - please advise.
Answer: The answer depends on your vaccination status. We refer you to the Celebrity Cruises official guidance which you can find on their website:
As per Celebrity Cruises' official website for those embarking in Barcelona must take a COVID test prior to departure but it is your vaccination status that determines when the test can be taken:
- Passengers who have have been vaccinated within 9 months (270 days) of final dose in primary series OR at least 1 booster shot, can take an antigen test 2 days prior to sailing.
- Passengers who have been vaccinated with a full dose of a primary series vaccine more than 9 months (270 days) prior to sailing, and NOT boosted, have to have an antigen test within 24 hours prior to sailing
So, to answer your question, it depends whether your vaccinations meet either of these requirements?
If you fall under the first category, then yes the package meets your requirement.
If you fall under the second category, then you need to take the test on the 19th. You can either go directly to the clinic or you can book a test at your accommodation with the At Home testing service.
You can make a reservation for any of these but you need to determine which one based on the information provided
Here are the links to make you reservation for the option depending on your needs. Note that all of the above options require an advanced reservation. The clinic does not permit walk-ins without an appointment. They offer an express testing service and in order to offer this fast testing service they work by advanced appointment only. We recommend you book in advance to ensure your time slot is available. Once the quota is full for a time slot they will not be able to accept more bookings for that time slot.
