Casa Sagnier is a boutique hotel in a central Barcelona location. Situated on the leafy Rambla de Catalunya, it is a mere hop and a skip away from Passeig de Gràcia - Barcelona's shopping haven and Plaça de Catalunya - the central point for many tourist activities in the city. The hotel's exterior is classic - an old and ornate building, in keeping with its affluent surroundings. A surprisingly minimalist thick black door gives an initial clue as to the hotel's interior.
The hotel lobby area comprises a lusciously thick maroon carpet leading to a slick black front desk. A door to the left leads to the hotel's restaurant, and a door to the right leads to its bar - these add an appropriate level of bustle to the serene lobby area. Marbled grey floors, a transparent vase filled with floating rose petals and a spiral staircase with an ornate wrought iron bannister all serve to add a touch of romance to the modernist surroundings.
Despite the hotel's luxurious furnishings and superior four-star rating, customers will need to make the journey to a sister hotel for amenities such as a pool, gym and spa. This may be an inconvenience. However, the sister hotel is Hotel Majestic - one of Barcelona's most renowned five star hotels, so it may well be worth the extra effort.
The hotel does not have its own pool, fitness centre or spa. However, customers of the hotel are provided with passes to the facilities at Casa Sagnier's sister hotel - Hotel Majestic. Hotel Majestic is situated on Passeig de Gràcia, a ten-minute walk from the hotel. It offers a rooftop pool with solarium, as well as a fitness centre and spa.
