Those looking for a more authentic Barcelona experience can head down one of the streets opposite the hotel such as Calle Tallers, into the heart of Raval. This area is known for being the most rough and ready section of Barcelona's old town, but it contains many gems. It is popular amongst locals for its trendy bars, independent shops and small galleries. It is the home of the MACBA modern art museum and the CCCB centre of contemporary culture.
In the other direction a more affluent part of town can be found. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Passeig de Gràcia.
