Review Hotel Midmost Barcelona

Page Content

Hotel Midmost Barcelona
Hotel Midmost Barcelona is part of the Majestic chain that also owns the excellent Hotel Majestic on Passeig de Gràcia, so when I went I was expecting quality and style, and I wasn't disappointed. Whilst the hotel is obviously not half as grand as the 5 star Majestic, it is newly refurbished and exudes professionalism and class. The location on the popular, central shopping street Calle Pelai is also a selling point.

Hotel Facilities

For such a central hotel the Midmost has a varied list of facilities. There is a lobby bar and a small restaurant called Redcafé. There is a library where you can sit and read both the Spanish and international press. The terrace on the roof is gorgeous and has some lovely views, especially in the evening when you can sit and have a drink in the candlelight and take in Barcelona's skyline. The hotel offers a laundry service, a courier service and even a florist service.

The hotel is located a short walk from many places of interest. Las Ramblas is at the bottom of the street, Passeig de Gràcia, home to some of Gaudí's building and a selection of up-market shops is a 5 minute walk away. The area known as El Raval is behind the hotel and has the MACBA contemporary art museum and some little hidden gems of shops and cafes. There is a pharmacy in Plaça Universitat, a Starbucks across the street, and an internet place just on Plaça de Catalunya. You are also in shopping central, Calle Pelai has the largest concentration of shoe shops so it's lucky that there's a cash point a block down.
