The hotel itself is very simple. It is tucked away down a small side street towards the top of Calle Joaquin Costa, just before Plaza de la Universitat. It is necessary to ring a bell to be let into the building. The lobby area is small but clean, if slightly lacking in natural light. In general, the pensión staff are friendly and helpful in answering questions.

It also contains a small clothing section and a selection of records.
Betty Fords is a bar, also on Calle Joaquin Costa. It is small and personal, with friendly staff and comfy banquette seating. It is popular in the day amongst those looking for a quiet drink or hungry for one of their famous burgers. At night it comes alive and is packed with a fashionable crowd who come in search of well-made cocktails.
Just opposite the pensión there is an interesting bar called Frutti Pop. It offers a kitsch style - the walls are adorned with pictures of old film icons, the bar is backed by red curtains and various chandeliers hang from the walls and ceiling. It is popular on weekday evenings when local DJs offer an eclectic music selection.

At the top of Calle Joaquin Costa you will find Plaza de la Universitat. This is home to many of Barcelona's main University buildings. It is a busy and large square that is joined to Plaça de Catalunya, at the top of the Ramblas.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T-Casual transport ticket from the airport. The T-Casual ticket gives you 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport system or you can buy a single fare train ticket. You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Green Line metro and travel one stop to Catalunya and then change on to the Red Line to Universitat. Your hotel is then 2 minutes walk from the metro. Alternatively you can take a taxi, which will take about 5 minutes.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaça de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Plaça de Catalunya. Alternatively, you can catch the metro from Catalunya to Universitat, just one stop on the Red Line, from where the hotel is a 2 minute walk.
