The hotel's location is close to both the areas of Raval and Poble Sec. These barrios are both known to be increasingly attractive, with interesting options for restaurants, bars and museums. The hotel is also close to Plaza de España, home of the Fira de Barcelona - this may appeal to those attending conferences at the large centre.

There is no pool in the hotel. However, there is a small spa area containing a Jacuzzi and a sauna in the basement. It also contains a gym with a running machine, a cycling machine and weights. There is also a small Jacuzzi on the roof of the hotel, where there is a terrace.

There is an area serving Buffet breakfast. Following breakfast, this area becomes the bar area.

Room service is available. The menu offers simple baguettes, yoghurt, fruit and cake.

There is one meeting room in the hotel with a capacity of 40 people. There is also free Wi-Fi for all customers throughout the hotel. There is a business area where there are computers available providing access to the internet free of charge. The hotel contains one room with access for people with a disability. It has widened doors and a special shower. There are lifts to all floors.

Rooms

There are a total of 46 rooms in the hotel, over 5 floors. Rooms available are either a single (there is only one single room), Doubles for Single-use, Doubles (doubles include Queen size beds), and Junior Suites that can fit up to 4 people (2 people sleeping on a sofa bed). Junior Suites provide a jacuzzi in the room.

The hotel is located on a main road with a lot of traffic. The rooms at the front of the building offer the best views of the city of Barcelona. The windows are double-glazed. However, there is still likely to be noise from the street. Those hoping for quieter rooms should request those at the back of the hotel. The rooms on the third floor at the front of the building have balconies.

Each room offers air conditioning, a television, a safe, bathrobes and a mini-bar.

Hotel Location and Facilities

Hotel Millenni is based just behind one of Barcelona's largest roads - Avenida Paral.lel. This is a main road that leads from the port to the centre of town at Plaça España. The hotel is situated about half way up the street and is thus approximately a ten-minute walk from both the port and Plaza de España. Plaza de España is the home of two important buildings - the Fira Barcelona and the Palace.

The Fira Barcelona is a large conference centre where some important Barcelona events such as Bread & Butter and the Harley Davidson conference take place.

The Apolo Theatre

Avenida Paral.lel itself also offers various places of interest. Within two minutes walk of the hotel you will find the Apolo Theatre. Further up the street there is also the Apolo nightclub for those in search of a night out. Apolo is one of Barcelona's best-known clubs. It offers both concerts and club nights and is based within a beautiful old theatre venue, with wooden seating around the edge of the dance floor, red velvet curtains and chandeliers.

The MACBA Square

The hotel is also based in the heart of the area of Raval. This area is part of Barcelona's old town. Although parts of El Raval have a reputation for being rough and ready, it is also fast becoming one of the most trendy areas in the old town. The area is full of small, independent bars, affordable local restaurants, design studios and art galleries. It is the home of the CCCB and the MACBA. These are two of Barcelona's museums of contemporary art and culture. They are housed within an interesting modern glass structure.

The hotel is within ten minutes walk of the Ramblas, where you will be at the centre of many of Barcelona's most popular tourist attractions.

Avenida Paral.lel should provide most necessary amenities such as internet cafés, banks, pharmacies and supermarkets.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Public transport transfer options

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes.

Taxi Fare: €30.00  - €35.00

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T-Casual transport ticket from the airport. The T-Casual ticket gives you 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport system or you can buy a single fare train ticket. You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Green Line metro and travel four stops to Paral.lel. Your hotel is then less than 3 minutes walk from the metro. Alternatively you can take a taxi, this will take about 10 - 15 minutes.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaça de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. From here, the hotel is a 10 minute taxi ride. Alternatively, you can catch the metro from Catalunya to Paral.lel, just three stops on the Green Line, from where the hotel is less than 3 minutes walk.
