The hotel's exterior is simple and modern - sitting on a street corner with business-like glass walls. It gives little clue to the hotel's cosy and stylish interior - the lobby area is dark with low lighting. A small flight of stairs leads to an area with many different sections - partitions are created with thin green silk curtains. The front desk is on the right. To the left, there is a large seating area with fluffy brown rugs and soft mauve sofas with lime cushions. Behind the seating area, there is a restaurant with dark wooden tables and chairs and distinctive round yellow bowls on each table.
Pestana Arena Hotel is not in walking distance from what is considered to be Barcelona's city centre - the 'old town' and the Ramblas area. However, it is conveniently close to Barcelona's business and transport hubs.
Hotel Facilities
There is no pool in the hotel. A gym is available and a spa. The gym contains two cycling machines, a running machine and weights. The spa includes a sauna, a steam bath and a massage room.
There is a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel.
There is also a bar in the lobby area. Drinks and light snacks are available.
Pets are not allowed in the hotel.

Pestana Arena Hotel Barcelona is located a 5 minute walk from Barcelona Sants train station. This is convenient for those travelling to and from Barcelona Airport - trains run directly from the airport to Sants station. It is also convenient for those wishing to travel within Spain. Trains from Sants will take you to coastal towns in Barcelona's vicinity such as Sitges and Girona. Trains and coaches also leave the station to other parts of Spain such as Madrid and San Sebastian.

The hotel is also a 10 minute walk from Plaça España. This is a large and traffic filled square containing Barcelona's Palace. The Palace is grand and impressive - a wide and ornate building sitting at the end of a tree lined avenue. It is the scene of a spectacular Magic Fountain show at weekends. Plaça España is also the home of the Fira Barcelona. This is one of Barcelona's largest conference centres, thus making the hotel particularly well located for those attending conventions at the centre.

Just at the end of Calle Consell de Cent, on which the hotel sits it is possible to view the Parc Joan Miró, on Calle Tarragona. This park is the site of Miró's famous statue - Woman with a Bird. The park itself is an attractive place to take an afternoon stroll - it has sandy floors and is dotted with palm trees.
The hotel's nearest metro station is Tarragona - 5 minutes walk from the hotel. This will ensure that some of Barcelona's more touristic areas are relatively easy to reach.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel
Booking your airport transport in advance onlineWith a private transfer service the driver will be waiting for you at the designated meeting point given to you on the booking voucher. The driver will help you with your bags to the vehicle and then drive you to your hotel. Private transfers are independent of the the public transport system. This means if there is a public transport strike these services will continue to operate.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Estació Sants in 25 minutes. You can either use the T-Casual transport ticket from the airport. The T-Casual ticket gives you 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport system or you can buy a single fare train ticket. From Estació Sants take the Green Line on the metro to Tarragona, from the metro station the hotel is a 5 minute walk.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaça España from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. From Plaça España take the Green Line on the metro to Tarragona, from the metro station the hotel is a 5 minute walk. Alternatively a taxi will take 5 minutes.
