Review Villa Emilia Hotel Barcelona

Page Content

Villa Emilia Hotel
Villa Emilia is a design hotel in a location that will be popular for those looking to enjoy the cosmopolitan side of Barcelona. It is placed within walking distance of areas such as Passeig de Gràcia and Gran Via Corts Catalanes, where there are many opportunities to shop and dine. It is a fair distance from the beach, so those wishing for a more relaxing break may not be inclined to choose such a city centre location.

From the exterior Villa Emilia Hotel could be mistaken for a modern restaurant. Its black canopies and casual name suggest something other than a four star hotel. What lies beneath is a welcoming space with dim lighting, soothing music and friendly staff. On entering the building, the bar and restaurant area are to the left of the entrance. To the right is the small front desk. The bar area provides maroon couches, a chunky wooden bar and a large black piano. The hotel's design allows old and new to sit side by side without jarring. An old and ornate wooden wardrobe is placed in front of elaborate flock wallpaper, creating an interesting feature in an area that is filled with modern tables and chairs.

Hotel Facilities

Despite the hotel's luxury status, it does not offer a pool or a fitness centre. However, it does have a terrace on its 8th floor roof. This small area does not have a bar. However, the bar in the lobby area can service the terrace. It provides tables, chairs and sun loungers.

The restaurant is in the lobby area, behind the bar. It is an intimate space with a fireplace and a whole wall of wine bottles. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves Mediterranean style food. The breakfast buffet is served in the restaurant area.

The bar area in the lobby of the hotel also serves a small range of snack food including salads and sandwiches. It is called Zinc Bar.

There is also a small lounge area on the first floor of the restaurant.

Pets are allowed in the hotel. In fact, they are actively welcomed. The hotel provides dog beds for the rooms, free of charge.
